Describe three factors that may make individuals more vulnerable to use than others.

There are many factors can consider but I mentioned a few in below -

Setting : Work setting may have lack of trained staff, not enough staff, work pressure, stress.
* Individual's circumstance : Individual who is suffering from dementia or other mental health issue, who has disability, and who are isolated are more vulnerable than others.
* Work environment : Lone worker or isolation of service users, no management or supervision, no support.

What does Prejudice and Discrimination means?

PREJUDICE : Prejudice is by other means prejudgment, an assumption made about someone or something before having adequate knowledge with guaranteed accuracy. Like assuming someone is gay by his costume or look or assuming someone's ability seeing his physical structure.

DISCRIMINATION : Discrimination is treating people less fairly or equally because they belong to a different group. A negative attitude directed toward people simply because they are members of a specific social group.

Explain what a social care worker must do if they become aware of unsafe practice

First, discuss with his colleague (who is performing) about the unsafe practice and the risk involves result in this practice. Then he can show the safe way to do and explain how it minimise the risk. Any unsafe practice should be recorded and reported to the manager in order to be corrected informing all of the staff by providing training or necessary information. If manager does not hear you or nothing come in action to eliminate unsafe practice then you have all the way right to complain to the social service, CQC, health and safety commission and department of health. But first you must follow all the procedures of complaints within the organisation you are working or the organisation where unsafe practice took place.

What are the differences between a relationship with a service user and a relationship with work colleagues?

Relationship with service users : Relationship with service user should be professional. Should not be related to an inappropriate relationship. Even should not treat them as your friend or child. Working relationship with service user develop into a personal relationship ever and anon. But should not be forgotten the professional boundaries.

Relationship with colleagues : Relationship with colleagues should be based on a professional respect and co-operation on demand. Workloads and responsibilities should be shared as appropriate and so should information and knowledge.

How adopting a person centered approach which offers choices and upholds rights can empower an individual and help to reduce the likelihood of abuse?

Treating individual with respect, supporting individuals rights to control their lives and make informed choices, promoting the independence of service users, respecting and promoting individual views, helping individual service users and care workers to make complaint and maintaining confidentiality, encourage service users to comment and attend in the meeting. Those practices help individuals to acquire their self-esteem and recognize their values, rights and powers what protect them being abused.

Explain three differences between a working relationship and a personal relationship.



Working relationship
Personal relationship
A working relationship is a relationship where I spend time with my coworker and client together at work, but I have little or no contact out of working hours. It’s strictly professional.
A personal relationship is one where my personal life and extra curricular activities and social life are involved.
Working relationship does not allow arguing, accepting differences, discussing interest and personal life’s problem between participants.
Personal relationship allow them cordially.
It is established with colleagues, clients and other professionals and sharing information is limited.
It can establish with anyone and sharing information is unlimited.
